Initially a jewellery label inspired by the founder's Laos-British heritage, Finchittida has evolved into a trailblazing brand that explores cross-cultural diversity with cutting edge fashion. We teamed up to produce a series of films to document their journey to Laos, exploring their inspirations including Buddhism, textiles & the culture which influences their designs & ethos.
Its almost unknown that Laos is the most bombed country per capita on earth as a result of the Vietnam war.
40 years since the end of the war, there are still unimaginable numbers of unexploded bombs left across rural parts of Laos, threatening the lives of men, women and children everyday. Their trip was also an opportunity for Finchittida to see & film the work of their beneficiary, MAG The Mines Advisory Group, in their work to defuse unexploded mines & bombs (UXO) across the country. A highlight, following 1 of the 7, all female bomb clearance teams as they defuse & explode UXO.

"Our collaboration with Gavin Toomey was a harmonious and inspiring journey, that not only resulted in a a piece of work far beyond our expectations, but actually helped us to spear head who we are as a fashion brand, what we want to achieve and where we are going next! We brought Gavin onboard to create a series of behind the scenes features to accompany our photo shoot and his execution was nothing short of impeccable. It is rare to find someone who embraces a task with such creative ingenuity and flair, we feel privileged that we were able to work with such a talent. What could have been a dull "same old" behind the scenes documentation bloomed into a stunning and beautifully shot fashion campaign, that portrayed our brand in exactly the right light. We are very much looking forward to future collaborations!" Tida & Lisa Finch, Finchittida
